Comparison
Synthflow has the certifications. We have the price on the page.
Synthflow is a German voice agent platform with a European cluster, ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and over 65 million calls a month. Since this summer it publishes no price at all: their pricing page reads "Enterprise, from $30,000 annually".
Choose Synthflow if you have an enterprise budget, need certifications today and want a European vendor already carrying traffic. Choose CallAgent if you want to see the price before you speak to a salesperson, start with no subscription, and have the human operators in the same product as the agent.
The rule this page is written under: every row has a sentence in both columns; everything we say about Synthflow is read off synthflow.ai, docs.synthflow.ai and security.synthflow.ai; and where they publish nothing, we say they publish nothing rather than guessing. Four rows out of eleven go to them.
Two ways of buying the same thing
CallAgent is for you if…
You want to find out what a minute costs from the page, not from a quote. Or you want to start with no annual commitment and no procurement process. Or you need queues, operators and a supervisor in the same product as the agent.
Synthflow is for you if…
You have an enterprise budget and a security questionnaire to pass: they hold ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS, and a European cluster you pick when the workspace is created. Or you need two hundred-plus ready-made integrations and a team that does the implementation.
Eleven dimensions, four of them lost
The four are exactly what a large company is buying: certifications, traffic, integrations, and telephony that works in both directions today.
| Dimension | CallAgent | Synthflow AI |
|---|---|---|
| what it actually is | A voice agent platform, a SIP PBX and a contact centre, in one console and on one invoice. | A voice agent platform with in-house telephony, a visual flow designer and an API, positioned explicitly as enterprise-ready on their own front page. |
| published price | €0.10 per minute on the real billable seconds, plus provider costs at their price. It is on the pricing page, with one real call itemised stage by stage. | They no longer publish a per-minute price. Their pricing page shows a single Enterprise plan, "from $30,000 annually", and their documentation says the package is scoped with their team. |
| what it costs to try | The Starter plan has no subscription and billing is on the real billable seconds. There is no free trial yet. | Their documentation states that pricing is sales-led and that the self-serve plans are no longer available for new subscriptions. No free tier appears on their site. |
| human operators | Queues, skills, a browser softphone, dispositions, wrap-up, and a human taking the call over without the caller being rung again. A supervisor console with listen, whisper and barge. | Cold transfer over SIP REFER and warm transfer with a whisper message to the recipient, plus phone books of up to fifty numbers with conditional routing. Their call-centre page describes handing off to your operators, not an operator desktop of their own. |
| telephony Synthflow AI wins this row | Twilio works end to end. Our own FreeSWITCH switch and SIP trunks are built, but an inbound call over a trunk does not reach an assistant yet. | Their own numbers, your Twilio account, plus SIP trunks and existing switches — Asterisk, Cisco, Avaya and Genesys are named on their page — with no replacement of your current system. The SIP integration requires the Enterprise plan. |
| where it runs | Hosted, or installed on your own server in containers with a documented install. Recordings and transcripts can be written straight into your own bucket, across eight destinations. | Three clusters — global, US and EU — chosen when the workspace is created and, they say, impossible to change afterwards. No customer-side install is offered on their site. Their own documentation warns that on an EU cluster with a custom Twilio account, some requests still fall back to US infrastructure. |
| Romanian | The console, the guides, the billing and the documentation are in Romanian, and the personal-data masking recognises the Romanian CNP. The language is set per assistant and has to be set explicitly. | Romanian is named explicitly in their supported-language list, among the "30+" they advertise. It is not in the ten-language set the agent switches between on its own, and the product is in English. |
| ready-made integrations Synthflow AI wins this row | Twenty-five business connectors, plus your own HTTP tools with a JSON schema, connected MCP servers, and CallAgent exposed as an MCP server itself. | They advertise 200-plus applications and name vertical CRMs on the page — Dentrix, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber — plus an MCP server in both directions. |
| certifications Synthflow AI wins this row | None. There is no external audit and no third-party penetration test has been done. | ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS v4.0.1, HIPAA, GDPR, DORA and the EU AI Act, listed on their security page. The evidence behind them is released on request under an NDA. |
| real traffic Synthflow AI wins this row | Eleven real calls, six of which failed, and no customer served. We have run no volume and taken no real payment. | Over 65 million calls a month by the figure on their own site, a company founded in Berlin in 2023, $30 million raised, and a Freshworks case study. |
| cost transparency | Every call has per-stage cost rows stored immutably: quantity, unit cost, where the quantity came from, and whether the price was verified against the vendor. | Their documentation describes a spend-by-provider chart over a period, and the field list of a call in their logs contains no cost field at all. |
The Synthflow facts are read from their public pages in September 2026. Their self-serve plans — Pro, Growth, Agency — are stated by them as withdrawn for new subscriptions, so a per-minute price found in an older article no longer holds.[1]
When not to pick us
Four situations where the right answer is Synthflow, or somebody else.
What we do differently
Four things, each checkable on the site or in the product.
The price is public
What a minute costs is on the pricing page, with one real call itemised stage by stage. Their pricing page asks for a conversation.
A contact centre included
Queues, operators and the supervisor are in the same product as the agent, not a second vendor to wire in.
Runs on your machine
A documented container install, with recordings written straight into your own bucket across eight destinations.
Cost per stage
Immutable rows on every call. Their call log has no cost field.
What people ask when comparing the two
What does Synthflow cost?
We cannot say, because they no longer publish it. The only figure on their pricing page is "from $30,000 annually" for the Enterprise plan, and their documentation says plainly that the package is scoped with their team and that a price found in public documentation is not a quote. Ours is written down: €0.10 a minute on top of provider costs, with no subscription on the Starter plan.
Which one keeps the data in Europe?
Both can, differently. They have a European cluster chosen when the workspace is created, with processing in the Union too — but the choice is permanent, and their own documentation warns that with a custom Twilio account some requests still reach US infrastructure. Ours is blunter and simpler: you install the product on your own server, and recordings go straight into your own bucket.
Does Synthflow work in Romanian?
Romanian is named explicitly in their supported-language list, so yes, as a supported language. It is not in the ten-language set their agent switches between mid-call, and the product, the documentation and the billing are in English. The difference we claim is the product being in Romanian, not the language of the agent.
Can we move off Synthflow?
The concepts overlap — agent, tools, webhooks, MCP servers, numbers — but there is no automatic import and we do not pretend there is. You rewrite the prompt and the tools. What does not move is the niche connectors they ship and we do not; there you end up writing a HTTP tool of your own.
Why admit you have no certifications?
Because it is the first thing any serious procurement asks and it would surface within the hour. They have ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS; we have none of them, and not even an external penetration test. If that is the condition, this page has saved you a meeting.
What to do next
Read the page that says what does not work first. If it still makes sense after that, our price comes off the pricing page rather than out of a conversation.
What else people compare us with
If you got this far you probably have two other tabs open. They are written under the same rule: sentences in both columns, and the rows we lose left in the table.
- CallAgent vs Vapi For somebody who wants only the platform, as cheap per minute as possible, with nothing to administer.
- CallAgent vs Retell AI For somebody building the agent quickly and connecting it to the contact centre they already run.
- CallAgent vs Bland AI For somebody who wants one per-minute price with the model and the voice included, and channels beyond the telephone.
- CallAgent vs ElevenLabs Agents For somebody buying the voice. They are the speech and transcription vendor we use ourselves.
- Genesys alternative For somebody buying an enterprise contact centre, with everything in it and an implementation project around it.
Bring the quote you already have
An annual commitment and a per-minute price do not compare on paper. Send the numbers you were given and we will work out what the same traffic costs here, including the parts that are worse.
